Carl Beaumont was the father of Andrea Beaumont.

Beaumont made deals with the Valestra gang. When he went into debt to gang he went to Europe with Andrea to hide from the gang intill the debt blowed over. He eventually repaid them, but that did not satisfy them, and an assassin murdered him. Batman believed that he was The Phantasm , until he learned from Arthur Reeves that Beaumont was long dead.
