History Edit

Officers Royer and Colletta fought under Dan Turpin during Darkseid's first invasion of Earth. They provided covering fire for him when he rescued Jimmy Olsen from a group of parademons and tried to engage them atop a statue.

Background information Edit

The name "Colletta" is one of several references throughout "Apokolips... Now!" to Jack Kirby's inkers. In the commentary, Bruce Timm mentioned Turpin's line was originally "Royer, Giacoia, cover me!", but Dan Riba insisted it be changed to Colletta, who did considerably more Fourth World work than Giacoia. The name Giacoia was used for another cop.
