This page is considered an official policy on the DC Animated Universe Wiki. It has wide acceptance among editors and is considered a standard that everyone should follow. Except for minor edits, please make use of the discussion page to propose changes to this policy. |
Articles
Articles with the following characteristics are subjects of deletion:
- Invalid DCAU subjects;
- This includes real world topics and terms, such as, "Earth" and "Human", that do not differ from the in-universe.
- Fanon, which the DCAU Wiki does not deal with;
- "Hollow articles" — articles with sketchy information (a couple of sentences or only an infobox);
- Nonsense, spam, or inappropriate material/language;
Images
Speedy deletion
- An image will be speedy deleted as soon as an administrator finds it if:
- An image that remains unused after two days from its uploading, or removed from any article(s) it previously appeared in will be marked with {{delete}} and be speedy deleted after two days, unless someone objects and/or finds a place to use it.
- Fan art.
- Inappropriate images.
Duplicate images
- Duplicate images should not be uploaded unless intended to replace a lower quality version of the same image. Obvious duplicate images will be marked with {{duplicate}} and speedy deleted.
Quality
- Images should be of the highest quality possible; in the case of duplicate images, the highest quality image is kept.
Nominations
Any article/file that falls under the deletion criteria should be marked with {{delete}} (by anyone). The nominator can provide a reason for the nomination, whether on the article/file's talk page or on the template itself. If no one objects to the nomination within seven days, the nominated article/file will be deleted. If someone objects, then a debate should ensue to reach a resolution.
Archiving Debates
Each discussion referring to deletion nominations will be stored on the Archived delete debates for future reference, after the debate reached a resolution.
Process
Anyone can archive a discussion. Normally, deletion discussions take place on the nominated article's talk page, therefore, after its resolution, the talk page should be moved/renamed to DC Animated Universe:Articles for deletion/ARTICLE'S NAME.
However, if said talk page contains other debates, the deletion debate should be moved manually (copy/paste), in order to preserve the other discussions.
Note: The entire discussion must remain intact, with the exception of any possible sub-heading that should be renamed to facilitate navigation.
After moving the discussion:
- Add {{Afd top}} to the top of the debate, state its resolution and sign it (~~~~);
- Then add {{La}} with the name of the nominated article/file;
- Finally, add {{Afd bottom}} to the bottom of the discussion so as to enclose the archive.
Example:
{{Afd top}}'''delete/keep.''' ~~~~ == ARTICLE'S NAME == :{{La|ARTICLE'S NAME}} DISCUSSION BODY {{Afd bottom}}
- Result:
The result was delete/keep. Signature ARTICLE'S NAME DISCUSSION BODY

Storage
Finally, the archive {{DC Animated Universe:Articles for deletion/ARTICLE'S NAME}} should be placed on [[DC Animated Universe:Articles for deletion/Log/YEAR MONTH]] in the DCAU:ADD.
