Ebon is arguably Static's arch-enemy in his years as a young superhero. Desiring control, Ebon continually tried to recruit bang babies to join his Metahuman gang, the Meta-Breed.

Ivan Evans spent time in juvenile hall prior to his exposure to the Bang Baby gas.
His criminal activities generally revolved around robbery, expanding his metahuman gang, and attempts to gain more power, both temporal and superhuman.
When the Bang Baby cure was spread throughout the city, Ebon stole the last of the Bang Baby gas and used it with Hotstreak. They fused into one being and began rampaging. It is unclear whether they retained their distinct identities, or even any higher mental capacity. The fused entity was seemingly destroyed soon after its creation in a battle with Static, leaving Ebon and Hotstreak's fates uncertain.

Ebon's powers are based on shadows. He is a mass of living shadow, with the ability to manipulate shadows. He can glide along walls, slip under doors and through cracks. He can travel from one shadow to another, as well as absorb other people or objects, carrying them with him. Ebon is weakened by bright light.
