Admin here may wish to look into how the automatic welcome tool is working on this wiki. You currently have automatic welcoming disabled (via MediaWiki:welcome-user) despite the fact that you've taken the time to actually create MediaWiki:Welcome-message-user.

So you've got a pretty awesome welcome message, but it's not getting to anyone.

Instead, what's happening is something rather confusing. User:Wikia, the bot that does all the welcoming across Wikia, is putting a small bit of text on every new user's page. But that text makes little sense. It's housed at MediaWiki:Welcome-user-page. What it does is take the first article that a person has edited and put it into a ograse which then creates the user page. So, I edited, "The Last Laugh" first. My user page now says, completely nonsensically",

"The Last Laugh's contributions". When you click that, it of course goes nowhere, because no user is called "The Last Laugh".

You really should consider changing this — again, it's at MediaWiki:Welcome-user-page — because it's honestly little better than spam. CzechOut 19:41, April 17, 2012 (UTC)
