Welker has voiced several DCAU characters, usually doing faithful impersonations of animals, such as Catwoman's cat Isis, Bruce Wayne's dog Ace, and hybrid hyena-man Woof. He also voiced Marvin, the young mascot of the Superfriends. He has performed voice work on nearly every animated television series of DC Comics, including shows that pre-dated Batman: The Animated Series

Welker is perhaps the busiest voiceover actor of the past thirty years, working on scores of animated projects for various companies since the 1960s. His most famous voice roles include Bronx, Jabberjaw, Dynomutt, Iceman, Megatron, Nibbler, and his most enduring role, Fred "Freddy" Jones from Scooby-Doo.
