— Justice Lord Hawkgirl

Hawkgirl (Justice Lord) was Shayera Hol of an alternate reality where the Justice League was called the Justice Lords. She was later captured by the Justice League and Lex Luthor of an alternate reality.

[edit] Justice Lords

It is unknown if Shayera Hol of the Justice Lords reality had ulterior motives much like the Shayera Hol of the Justice League. However, considering the League's The Question theory, it is strongly believed that most, if not everything, is the same up to a certain point when Lex Luthor is made President of the United States.

Hawkgirl became romantically involved with other Justice Lord member, Green Lantern and the two were often paired together and shared each other’s thoughts and secrets, especially their loss of Flash. Hawkgirl and Green Lantern’s final mission included halting a small protest at Smallville University. Hawkgirl would then share her feelings that they were simply putting fear into the people and making them hate them. Green Lantern quickly dismissed these thoughts and explained that they found the best way.

Hawkgirl was called into the Batcave along with the other Justice Lord members to witness Batman's new invention: a trans-dimensional gateway. The Justice Lords witnessed a world much like their own except that they were called the "Justice League" and they were fighting Lex Luthor in his powersuit. They also noticed that the Justice League Flash was still alive. The Justice Lords decided that they would turn the League's world into one much theirs: one without crime but also without choice. J'onn J'onzz entered the portal and tricked the League members into a sealed area where they were captured. Though Hawkgirl pointed out that her alternate self was the only one who was able to resist the trap, relying on her mace as a conductor, the Lords dismissed it.

The Justice Lords entered the Leagues dimension as Doomsday crashed into the planet and they fought him. Hawkgirl attempted to smash Doomsday however; he grabbed her energy mace and although electrocuting himself, he punched her into the sky where Green Lantern caught her. The injury was not at all long term and she was, within minutes, back on her feet.

As the Justice League escaped the Justice Lords World and back into their own, Lex Luthor "escaped" from Strikers Prison. Hawkgirl cautioned Justice Lord Superman not to kill Luthor and that the people of this world were not ready for what their world was. Nonetheless, the Justice Lords left to stop Luthor. When arriving at the prison, they were sealed in and electrocuted. As before, Hawkgirl used her mace as a conductor and smashed the door down to come face to face with the Justice League Green Lantern who at first held back from shooting her with his ring. Hawkgirl took the opportunity and threw her mace into the machine electrocuting her teammates but Green Lantern brought her down. The real Lex Luthor then arrived on the scene with his Energy Disruptor, and after he had taken down Superman, Hawkgirl flew up and attacked. However, Luthor fired the disruptor at her and she fell from the sky, completely devoid of her flying powers.

[edit] Brainiac's Clone

"Do you think there is a single person on Thanagar or Earth who doesn't despise us?!"
— Hawkgirl (Brainiac Clone)

When Brainiac revealed himself to have been living inside Lex Luthor's body, the two created an unstoppable force. Luthor and Brainiac fled to Cadmus HQ where they took control of the Dark Heart robots kept there. When the Justice League arrived to stop them, Luthor and Brainiac molded clones of the Justice Lords to fight the League and undermine them. Hawkgirl attacked Shayera Hol and made the thoughts of the dislike she feared from populace come to the surface. It wasn't until Green Lantern smashed the Hawkgirl robot, letting off the steam he needed to since Shayera's betrayal, that the robot was destroyed.

Hawkgirl wore a Thanagarian Lieutenants helmet and with a new costume; color-wise, it indicated Hawkgirl's feelings had changed. Though her military training makes her an adept killer; the shift from bright, optimistic colors yellow, red and green to a more subdued brown shows an internal struggle nonetheless.
