Hephaestus was the Greek God of craftsmanship, particularly blacksmithing.

History Edit

He was responsible for the armor of Wonder Woman as well as the Annihilator commissioned by Ares.

According to Hephaestus, he always includes some sort of weakness in everything he makes, so that no one or thing can get too powerful. The Annihilator's is that it shuts down if no one is fighting or expressing any anger. Even Wonder Woman's armor is stated to have a weakness, though it is never revealed. He also remarked that he needs to let her armor out a little since her mother who wore it first did not have her build.

Background information Edit

In Greek mythology Hippolyta was the daughter of Hephaestus's brother Ares (with whom he shared Zeus and Hera as his father and mother respectively). This would make Hephaestus Diana's great-uncle and if Hades (Hephaestus's uncle) is truly her father then Hephaestus would also be her first cousin. Hermes and Athena are Hephaestus' half-siblings.
