As an actor, he is best known for his starring role in New Jack City and for playing Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
When Ice-T went in to record his lines (which was a little while before becoming known for his part on SVU), Kevin Conroy expressed surprised that a rapper wanted to voice act. Ice-T responded by saying that everybody had heard how much fun it was and wanted a try.
