The Monocle was offered membership of Grodd's Legion of Doom, but he did not partake in any missions. He sided with Grodd during the mutiny. He did not survive that battle; he was blown up with the ship when Darkseid was resurrected.

The depicted subject bears the likeness of Monocle from the DC Comics; however, the DCAU character was never named on-screen, or otherwise. The title of this article is conjecture based on the character's likeness. Jonathan Cheval was a honest businessman who worked in the optical field. A criminal destroyed his business, so, Cheval started his revenge on everyone who helped destroy his business.
