[edit] Demon?

Where's the source for this? --BoneGnawer 12:22, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

When I read it I found it odd too. She was called a witch, and even though she wears a mask now, we have no reason to believe she's anything beyond human. ― Thailog 19:51, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
"A vipers kiss, Jason Blood. A kiss of a demon in human form." --RedemptionTalk 04:46, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
What is the context and who said this? Is this from "A Knight of Shadows"? --BoneGnawer 04:49, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Merlon after Morgaine poisons Jason (notice those fangs of hers?) in Knights of Shadows. --RedemptionTalk 04:50, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
I think that was just a "medieval metaphor". Good sorcerers would ofter refer to witched as "demons". He also called her a "viper"... ― Thailog 10:51, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
I'll have to re-watch the episode, but I'm pretty sure that this was meant figuratively and ought to be chalked up to Merlin's poetic license. --BoneGnawer 12:30, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
A viper - a snake - Satan - demon. Those fangs are certaintly not human...--RedemptionTalk 19:28, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
She is a sorceress, the fangs and the "viper's kiss" are one of her many uses of Magic. The snake/satan correlation is conjecture, and projects christian imagery onto a legend that predates christian influence. There is nothing definitive that identifies her as a demon. --12:30, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
I agree. ― Thailog 13:31, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
