Tim Curry (born 19 April, 1946 in Grappenhall, Warrington) is an English actor and voice artist, known for his work in a diverse range of theatre, film and television productions, often portraying villainous roles or character parts. Among his DCAU roles, Curry voiced Mutro Botha in the Batman Beyond episode, "Final Cut".
He was originally cast as the Joker on Batman: The Animated Series but was replaced by Mark Hamill. While some accounts claim Curry's leave was because his performance was too frightening for younger audiences, Paul Dini recounts in the book Batman: Animated that the voice Curry elected to use was so strenuous on his vocal chords that he would lapse into coughing fits between takes.
He is best known for starring in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and other films including The Three Musketeers, Congo, Charlie's Angels and Legend. His other animated credits include Nigel in the Nickelodeon sitcom The Wild Thornberrys.
