Background information Edit

A veteran character actor, Schiavelli's early roles included the mental patient Frederickson in Stanley Kubrick's One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, and other roles in Fast Times At Ridgemont High and The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 4th Dimension.

Schiavelli played a memorable role in Ghost, as a subway spirit who teaches Sam (Patrick Swayze) how to move objects in the living world. Another memorable recent role was as German Dr. Kaufman in Tomorrow Never Dies, a forensic pathologist who moonlights as an assassin specializing in faked suicides.

Television appearances include Remington Steele, Moonlighting, Star Trek: The Next Generation, The X-Files, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Schiavelli also had a small role in Batman Returns as the Red Triangle Circus Gang's Organ Grinder, making him one of only five actors to have appeared in both Batman: The Animated Series and one of the live-action movies (the others being John Glover, Senator Patrick Leahy, Ed Begley, Jr. and Rene Auberjonois).

Schiavelli also authored three cookbooks and a number of articles on Italian cooking.

Schiavelli passed away at his home on Sicily, due to lung cancer.
